BLUE LIKE JAZZ by Donald Miller
Paperback: 256 pages
Publisher: Nelson Books (July 17, 2003)
On the back cover a quote from Christianity Today says Donald Miller is "Anne Lamott with testosterone..." Yup. This book joins Traveling Mercies by Anne Lamott, Messy Spirituality by Mike Yaconelli (which for some bizarre reason I forgot to blog), and The Wisdom of Tenderness by Brennan Manning, have done more to adjust my spiritual perspective than any other books I have read--and that is saying a lot. While I still have much to learn, Blue Like Jazz, and the other books, have opened my eyes to grace and passion and have shed much needed light on dutiful conformance.
