Author: Lesslie Newbigin brings to this work his experience as a pastor, missionary, theologian, ecumenical statesman, and writer. He is a visionary thinker who applies wisdom to experience. His writing is Christ-centered, Trinitarian framework, biblical, and missionally-informed.
Chapter 1 provides background for this discussion of theology of mission. Chapters 2-6 place the authority of mission clearly in the missio Dei and within a Trinitarian framework. Chapters 7-10 provide practical applications and implications for the Trinitarian framework.
Newbigin intends to bring “…contemporary concerns in mission theology to a wide audience…to lead the church to embrace its Christ-given task of presenting the gospel to our complex post-modern world.” This is an introduction to the study of missiology.
